There are so many things I could say
So many captions I could write
But I'm choosing the narrative tonight
You left your friends to spend the day with me
You drove me to the city and we took selfies
Watched sunset at the beach
Even ate some sand
All I wanted to do was hold your hand
My face hurt from smiling and hearing you say my name
You asked me questions that shocked me
I'm so open and unfiltered with you
You know what so many others don't
I even sang
You were cold and I wanted to warm you up
I locked eyes with you and boy did I feel it all the way through
I couldn't sleep
You had me lying awake missing you
Even had a nightmare because I truly care
We listened to music and gosh I wanted to dance
You with your arms around me giving me a chance
This day still makes me grin like a fool
Spending time with you is always time well spent
I just wish that you wouldn't have went
It's supposed to be you and me
I don't like not knowing when I'll see you again
I hope that it's soon and my phone would ring
You're on a pedestal in my world
What's holding you back
This is the narrative I'm choosing to remember
The one where you gave me all of your attention and you wanted me too
I really hope things go that way
